Katarou used his martial arts training to become a super villain and steal. While in Jump City's Chinatown stealing a staff, he encountered Robin and manipulated him into going to seek out the Master. Katarou planned to allow Robin to fight past the many challenges before facing the Master and when Robin was exhausted, Katarou would attack him and proceed to the Master, instead. Near the top of a mountain, Katarou attacked Robin with his own utility belt gadgets. However, Robin used his new teachings to defeat him. The Master's guardians took custody of Katarou and banished him.
A year later, Katarou was recruited to join the Brotherhood of Evil. When they initiated the final phase of their plan to destroy the Teen Titans, he was dispatched to Asia to capture Bushido. Katarou returned to the Paris base and fought in the final battle only to be cryogenically frozen in the aftermath.
