There can only be 1 "Earthbound Immortal" monster on the field. If there is no face-up Field Spell on the field, destroy this card. Your opponent's monsters cannot target this card for attacks. This card can attack directly. If this card is Normal Summoned: Target 1 to 3 cards you control, but not more than your opponent has in their hand; shuffle them into the Deck, then discard the same number of random cards from your opponent's hand (or as many as possible), and if you do, this card gains 1000 ATK for each card discarded by this effect.
- In episode 63, Rex Goodwin uses this card during his Turbo Duel against Yusei Fudo, Jack Atlas, and Crow Hogan. He adds this card from his Deck to his hand via the effect of "Offering to the Immortals". On Goodwin's next turn, he Tribute Summons this card by Tributing his two Ceremonial Tokens. Upon being summoned, this card absorbed the citizens of New Domino City into itself, including some Sector Security officers and Angela Raines. Goodwin then activates this card's effect to reduce one of his opponent's Life Points to 1 by skipping his Battle Phase, but Crow activates "Life Exchange" to direct this card's effect at him. Crow then activates the last effect of "Life Exchange" to destroy "Moon Dragon Quilla" since his Life Points are lower than Goodwin's. In the next episode, Jack activates "Fiendish Chain" to target "Sun Dragon Inti" and forbidding it from attacking, activating its effects, or being Tributed. Goodwin then activates this card's effect to reduce Jack's Life Points to 1 by skipping his Battle Phase. This destroys "Fiendish Chain" since Jack's Life Points were now less than 1000. On Goodwin's next turn, he activates this card's effect to reduce Yusei's Life Points to 1 by skipping his Battle Phase. On Goodwin's next turn, this card attacks Yusei directly via its own effect, but Yusei sends "Scrubbed Raid" to the Graveyard in order to end the Battle Phase. On the final turn of the Duel, Yusei activates the effect of "Majestic Star Dragon" to negate this card's effects and transfer them to "Majestic Star Dragon". Yusei then activates "Synchro Baton" to increase the ATK of "Majestic Star Dragon" by 600 for every Synchro Monster in his Graveyard. Because there are four Synchro Monsters in Yusei's Graveyard (this includes the ones in Jack and Crow's Graveyards), "Majestic Star Dragon" gains 2400 ATK. "Majestic Star Dragon" then attacks and destroys this card, winning Yusei the Duel. With this card's defeat as well as Goodwin's defeat, the people this card absorbed are released and revived and the people that unwillingly became Dark Signers are revived with no memories of their lives as Dark Signers being in their memories.
- In episode 79, this card appears in a flashback Crow has when he notes to Jack that by defeating Goodwin they were able to unite New Domino City and Satellite.
- In episode 130, this card appears in a flashback Mina Simington has when she tells Akiza, Leo, and Luna that it was thanks to the Signers that the Neo Domino City became united.
- Its Life Point lowering effect was called "Polestar Obey" and its attack name was "Death Singularity".
Trivia[]
- 'Wiraqocha' (Viracocha) is one of the most important Inca Deities. He was the god of the sun and the storms, and according to the folklore, the creator of the Inca civilization. Its importance was so big that even non-Incan cultures adored it. Its name literally means "Sea Foam".
- This card's artwork is based on a condor, specifically the 'Andean Condor' which is one of the most sacred animals in the Inca Religion and one of the Peru's national animals, as well as Ecuador's national and most venerated animal.
- This is the only "Earthbound Immortal" whose unique effect is different in real life than in the anime (its anime effect reduces the opponent's Life Points to 1 if you skip your Battle Phase).
- It is also the only "Earthbound Immortal" to have a different ATK and DEF between the anime and the TCG/OCG (1/1 compared to 100/100).
- This card's anime effect was later reworked into one of the effects of Earthbound Greater Linewalker, but reducing the opponent's LP to 3000 instead of 1.
- In the anime, this card's effect is a reverse of "The Winged Dragon of Ra"'s, instead of reducing one's own Life Points to 1 to increase its ATK by the same amount, this card automatically reduces the opponent's Life Points to 1. Ironically, the downside to "Ra"'s effect is that it leaves the player vulnerable to even a low Direct attack (or Effect damage), while this card takes advantage of putting the opponent into that position with the general "Earthbound Immortal" effect of being able to attack the opponent directly.
- This card is the only "Earthbound Immortal" to share a Type (Winged Beast) with another "Earthbound Immortal": "Earthbound Immortal Aslla piscu". Additionally, "Aslla piscu" is based on a hummingbird, the smallest bird, whereas "Wiraqocha Rasca" is based on a condor, the largest flying bird.
- This card can be both the weakest and strongest "Earthbound Immortal", before and after gaining its maximum ATK increase.
- The same also applies in a way to the anime: despite having a very low ATK and DEF, it had by far the most powerful anime effect and was stated by multiple characters to be the strongest of the "Earthbound Immortals".
- This card is the only "Earthbound Immortal" that does not have the letter 'U' in its name.
- This card appears in the artwork of "Earthbound Linewalker" and "Ultimate Earthbound Immortal".
- In the 5D's anime, this monster could represent Rex Goodwin in two ways:
- "Rasca" is based on the Andean Condor, which is the largest flying land bird in the Western Hemisphere. This alone could be synonymous of Goodwin's enhanced physical physique when he reveals himself as a Dark Signer.
- In Andean mythology, the Andean Condor is associated with the sun deity, and was believed to be the ruler of the upper world. The Andean Condor is also considered a symbol of power and health by many Andean cultures. This could represent Goodwin's "Inca" themed Deck as well as his desire to be the Supreme Immortal Ruler of the Crimson Dragon and the world.
- "Rasca" is the only "Immortal" that appears to have a part of its body that neither pertains to its black bodily shape nor its corresponding rainbow color stripes. Around its neck is what looks like a wreath of white feathers which is often seen on real-life condors.
- "Wiraqocha Rasca", in the anime, appears to be the largest "Earthbound Immortal" and has the largest geoglyphs.
- This card's effect is the opposite of "Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier". While the effect of "Brionac" lets you discard cards from your hand to return cards from the field to the owner's hand, this card's effect lets you return cards from the field to discard cards from the opponent's hand.
Tips[]
- This card can be searched by "Earthbound Greater Linewalker", "Earthbound Servant Geo Gremlina", "Earthbound Servant Geo Grasha", "Offering to the Immortals", "Floowandereeze & Eglen", "Hundred Eyes Dragon", "Swallow's Nest", "Ninjitsu Art of Transformation", "Gizmek Uka, the Festive Fox of Fecundity", "Gizmek Makami, the Ferocious Fanged Fortress", "Tri-Brigade Shuraig the Ominous Omen", "Animadorned Archosaur", "Tri-Brigade Airborne Assault", "Kittytail, Mystical Beast of the Forest", "Three-Eyed Ghost", "Dharc the Dark Charmer, Gloomy", "Mystic Potato", "Mystic Tomato", "Chaos Zone", "Chaos-End Master", "Umbramirage the Elemental Lord", "Sangan" and "Witch of the Black Forest".
- After Special Summoning this card from the deck, you can activate "Swallow's Nest" to swap this card out for "Earthbound Immortal Aslla piscu".
- This card can be Tribute Summoned with one Tribute using "Double Coston" and "The First Monarch", or by Tributing a Synchro Monster while you control "Earthbound Geoglyph".
- "Floowandereeze" Decks can Tribute Summon this card without expending other cards in hand for the Tribute Summon, but will still need to set up for the hand destruction effect as usual.
- You can Tribute Summon this card by Tributing a Level 5 or higher monster while you control "Advance Force", then shuffle "Advance Force" back into the deck as part of this card's effect.
- As of Master Rule 3, both players can control a Field Spell Card at the same time, therefore, if your opponent controls a Field Spell, you can shuffle your Field Spell back into the deck as part of this card's effect. Have another Field Spell ready to activate, so that your opponent cannot destroy this card by displacing their Field Spell with another in their hand.
- Use cards that stall, like "Gravity Bind", while trying to Summon this card. Then, when this card has been Summoned, they are no longer needed, and you can return such cards from your side of the field with this card's effect, so you can attack with a high-ATK monster.
- You can use this card with "Mausoleum of the Emperor" to Normal Summon this card without Tributing.
- You can use this card's effect without losing advantage, by shuffling a "Serpentine Princess" back into your Main Deck, replacing it with a Level 3 or lower monster from your Main Deck.
