The Skrulls were a peaceful race from the planet of Skrullos, governed by the Skrull Council. When the Kree Empire arrived to their planet to subjugate them, the Skrulls refused, causing the Kree to commit mass genocide and destroy Skrullos. The surviving Skrulls would use their shapeshifting abilities to blend with other alien populations to seek refuge, while the Kree spread propaganda that portrayed them deceptive invaders that sought to conquer worlds from within in order to hunt down any Skrull refugee. As a result of this, Skrull detectors were constructed to find Skrull imposters.

One group of Skrulls led by Talos found themselves on a Kree ship hidden on Earth where they were taken under the care of benevolent Kree scientist Mar-Vell. She sought to use the Tesseract to built an engine that could help the Skrulls get away from the Kree's war, but was assassinated by the Kree Starforce, leaving Talos and his fellow refugees inside the ship.

A group of Skrulls would come to inhabit the planet of Aphos Prime after it had been irradiated by the Xandarians' Axiom Cannon. Unfortunately for them they were discovered by the Starforce members Minn-Erva and Vers. They attacked the Skrulls and took one prisoner to Hala.

The Skrulls learned about the Axiom Cannon and planned to steal its plans from the Nova Corps before the Kree could also steal it. This plan was unsuccessful as the Starforce discovered them and proceeded to take them down.

When the Starforce began killing several Skrulls on Torfa, Talos captured Vers and brought her to his ship and probe her mind as she had her memories scrambled by the Kree. However, she fought back and tried to escape, causing her and the Skrulls to crash land on Earth in California, where they shapeshifted into humans in order to search for Mar-Vell's engine. After Vers remembered her true identity and past as Carol Danvers, she decided to aid the Skrulls in escaping the Kree, helping Talos reunite with his family.

Following the defeat of the Accuser Corps, Carol proceeded to help Talos and the Skrulls relocate to a new homeworld away from the Kree. Though during this time the Skrulls began working for Nick Fury, helping him rise through the ranks and turn S.H.I.E.L.D. into global force. Following the Blip the Skrulls continued working for Fury, recruiting Monica Rambeau, and replacing him in his job while he was with them in a space station.

However, as Nick Fury failed to find a suitable home for the Skrulls, the Skrull Resistance was formed which aimed to eradicate humanity and make Earth their new homeworld, infiltrating several influential governments around the world. Talos was against this decision and as a result he was kicked out of the Skrull Council and replaced by Gravik. They set base in an abandoned nuclear site in Russia, and the first step in their plan, which involved inciting a war between Russia and USA, was to bomb Vossoyedineniye Square which was successful despite Fury and Talos trying to intervene. It was later revealed that the Skrulls had in their possession a machine which could grant individual Skrulls additional powers in order to create Super-Skrulls.

Technology and culture[]

The Skrulls are a technologically advanced race, possessing Blasters, Electroshock Baton, Ships, Battleships and Space Pods. Their clothes could also morph along with their bodies thanks to their co-morphing apparel.

Biology[]

The Skrulls are a reptilian species with green skin, pointed ears and large pupils. Unlike the life native to Earth, the Skrulls aren't carbon-based and instead comprised of an unknown element. Also, unlike their Earth-616 counterparts, the female Skrulls didn't have any hair, making them similar to their male brethren. The Skrulls possessed shapeshifting abilities, and could shapeshift, or "sim", into any living creature, even copying their DNA. In addition to this, the Skrulls possessed above average strength, durability, agility and longevity. They were also immune to radiation.

Later on, the Skrull Resistance was able to replicate the powers and abilities from various sources such as Groot, a Frost Beast, Cull Obsidian and Extremis. Once the Skrulls were imbued with Extremis they gained more advanced regeneration.
