Bucky was a member of the US Army and war photographer during World War 2. He participated an Allied raid on a German island fortress led by Captain America. He took snapshots of every scene of the battle especially the Chitauri spacecraft and nuclear missile. Bucky mourned of Cap's "death" after the missile exploded mid-air.
