Buck appeared in The Magma Stone, in which he was shown at Stark Mountain. He used his Claydol to battle the Legendary Heatran along with Looker and his Croagunk. He then returned the Magma Stone to its original resting place on a stone altar. Afterwards, he revealed to Looker that he was traveling around Sinnoh to become the greatest Pokémon Trainer ever.
