Black Manta is an enemy of Aquaman and member of the Legion of Doom. When Lex Luthor went missing in the arctic, Black Manta searched for him with Gorilla Grodd and Captain Cold. Instead, they encountered Karate Kid and Dawnstar. They were catapulted away when Karate Kid unleashed a focused ki burst on a glacier's weak point to release Luthor's body. Manta later regrouped with Grodd and Cold and set out to gather the Legion of Doom to get revenge on the Justice League. In the 31st Century, Black Manta's damaged helm is on display in a museum.
