Aquaman is the king of the undersea nation of Atlantis and member of the Justice League of America. One of his enemies is the Legion of Doom member Black Manta. In the final battle against the Time Trapper, Aquaman responded to a distress call that involved a Japanese vessel being pulled into the Trapper's portal. After rescuing the crew, Aquaman summoned a giant octopus to hold onto the vessel.
